What causes pain?

  • Shortened muscles — Chronically shortened muscles are tense and tight. Therapeutic massage releases adhesions that form in tight muscles, helping to restore range of motion.

  • Referred pain — Not only does a tight muscle hurt, it can cause pain in other muscles, too. Therapeutic massage finds the source of the pain and releases it.

  • Pinched nerves — Tight muscles press on the nerves that run through them, which can interfere with the free flow of nerve signals and cause pain. Therapeutic massage relaxes muscles and relieves pressure on nerves.

  • Tight connective tissue — Fascia (connective tissue) surrounding muscles becomes damaged due to inactivity or repetitive motion strain. Therapeutic massage provides appropriate stimulation of the fascia, realigning the fibers and restoring flexibility.

PalmLeaf is hands down the best practice I have ever gotten a massage at. I love how each therapist brings their own unique style for every treatment session and I always walk out feeling amazing. They take time to understand your goals for every session and the outcome is phenomenal! – Hanna C., Yelp Review

By far, the most masterful and generous massage technicians I have ever experienced. I just got my massage, and now feel like my body has been given new life… They are incredible because they effectively restore the mind and body. Top recommendations for PalmLeaf! — David V., Yelp Review

Hands down the best massage I have ever had. If you’re looking for a luxurious spa experience I would look elsewhere. The place is neat and tidy but not your usual spa. It is located in an office building behind Fifth Third Bank in Buffalo Grove on the second floor. I booked with them based on the recommendation of someone on a Facebook group. Additionally, 90 minutes massage meant 90 minutes. I haven’t felt this good in a long time. I have already booked another massage next week. It will be hard for me to go elsewhere. I highly recommend it. — Ambreen G., Google Review
